The last (and first time) I saw My Morning Jacket was at Coachella this year. They really blew me away, and the setting couldn't have been more perfect - right as the sun was going down on the last day. I was really able to relax and enjoy their set, just like I did this night.
The show was again amazing, and our seats were pretty good. I don't really have the words to describe Jim James in a live setting - his voice is still ethereal, and the band kicks it up a notch. I can't really listen to their albums for that long (they get a little too jammy after awhile), but I will take every opportunity available to see this band in a live setting.
D shot some video on his camera, and was nice enough to let me copy the files to post here.
"Off the Record":
"Mahgeeta":
"It Beats 4 U":
"Golden" (D's favorite, so I was glad they played it):
"Wordless Chorus":
The crowd was sadly thin that night (the venue was maybe half full?), but those that were there were really into it. And rightfully so.
Overpriced. Unfortunately. There's an economic crisis on.
