Apologies for not posting the past few days, but I was out cavorting in nature. I want to go (back) to there...

The lights were dim at this show, so not too many photos. Eulogies was solid, just like the last time I saw them.

I was not too familiar with Land of Talk prior to this show. I picked up an EP on the recommendation of someone I trust and listened to it a few times, but it never really stuck. Seeing them live took the music to a whole other level. There was definitely some stunning talent on stage.

This is especially cruel since I just gave up soda last week. Sigh. I picked this bottle up to help on the drive home from Palm Springs that day.
Leah and Levi - Wedding - 10/24/2009
So, this was my first shot at shooting a wedding on my own. I've assisted at a handful of them before (shooting whenever possible), but Leah and Levi were kind enough to trust their friend Brian when he recommended me. So I drove out to Palm Desert and was lucky enough to share in one of the most fun weddings I've ever witnessed. I mean, who else has been at a wedding that involves most of the wedding party jumping in the pool in their tuxes/bridesmaid dresses? (Sadly, my camera equipment had long been stowed away at that point.)
On a side note, if anyone is looking for a wedding photographer for the upcoming year, feel free to drop me an email at natkardos AT gmail DOT com. I'm also working on revisions to both this site and my portfolio site that will hopefully be up before the end of the year. So just as an advance warning, if you visit www.itstoosunnyouthere.com one day and it goes to my portfolio site, just look for the link that says "blog." :)

Shot my first wedding this day, and it was an absolute blast. More photos from that in an upcoming post...

Sunrise, before this whole daylight savings thing took effect and made my evening commute twice as long because people apparently don't know how to drive in the dark.

I was expecting this show to be more mellow than it actually was. I love it when shows surprise you like that.
(Caught someone else's flash on this one - not surprising, given the number of photographers there that night!)
Yes, that's an electric toothbrush vibrating on his guitar strings. This was the first time I've seen anything of that sort, but surprisingly not the last...
Setlist:
Their latest album, The First Days of Spring, is a supremely gorgeous and melancholic break-up album - which is why I was a little taken aback by how uplifting the show was. I'm really glad I caught them here, since I missed them at Coachella this year.

Magic hour :) Love how the last few rays of light selectively lit up the red leaves on the tree.

I splurged and saw Where the Wild Things Are at an IMAX theater. It was completely worth it - a really amazing movie.
So amazing, we went home a built a fort...

Along with my Holga, I also took my 40d and new 70-200mm L lens with me to the Wild Animal Park. It's always fun to shoot the animals (with a camera!). Full set here.
