366 Days, 366 Photos: 03/13/2008

I bought these shoes today at the DSW Shoe Warehouse. Super cute, and on clearance, so super cheap. It's rare for me to find shoes that I like that are actually in my size (10-11). For some reason, though, I seem to be collecting quite a few pairs of shoes that have funky designs on the inside of the fabric. Random.

I shot this using my 420EX Speedlite with a diffuser and a homemade snoot, which is why the light falls off around the edges of the photo. A neat effect, and I can see it being useful in portraiture-type shots.

  1. ohhhh those shoes are so kickass. i am also a member of the bigfoot club (at 5'10" that's sort obvious). i hate when you're in a shoe store and you see a pair that looks so cute on the shelf, in the display size six, and then when they come out with your size it looks like some sort of ghastly enormous clown shoe. seriously though, i'm extremely jealous of those. what brand? i might try to find them on zappos...

  2. daaang, i never noticed your humongous feets before :)

Just kidding. With feet that size, you must score a lot with clearance shoes. I'm stuck with one of the most common shoe sizes so I'm usually assed out.

  3. To Kendra: I know exactly what you mean. I hate the clown shoe effect. The shoes are Madden Girl (an offshoot of Steve Madden?) and are also really comfortable.

To Rosey: That's a common misconception. Unfortunately, what I usually find is that stores only order one or two pairs in my size, and those are usually gone by the time I want them. I really lucked out this time though!

  4. Natalie speaks the hard truth... once a good pair goes on sale, you almost never find 10s
